self made gilded cage

We lose ourselves in fantasy in order to escape reality, a gilded cage of the mind made by our own actions and choices, wether to escape a hard reality or the protect a wounded and scared mind and heart is matters not; When that cage of gilded bars inevitably come crashing down, and those broken and tattered hearts and those shattered minds are once again laied out and open to the world we stand in silent awe of all that we refused to see.
